Byron Bay Writers Festival will begin its literary roadshow Five Writers, Five Towns in Five Days at Tweed Heads Library on Friday 25 July at 1.30pm.
Before the internet, before television, before the written word, humanity had stories. Storytellers, messengers and troubadours travelled from place to place bringing news and spinning yarns. Five Writers, Five Towns in Five Days follows in this spirit, a literary roadshow starting at Tweed Heads Library and ending when the words run out.
Award winning writers Craig Sherborne, Ashley Hay and Zacharey Jane will participate in readings and discussions, accompanied by young film maker Tim Eddy and blogger Angela Meyer who will record and recount as they go.
Bookings are required by phoning (07) 5569 3150.Tweed libraries will screen three classic Australian films this month, with Sunday Too Far Away (1975) at Tweed Heads Library on Monday 28 July at noon, The Shiralee (1957) at Kingscliff Library on Friday 25 July at 11am and High Rolling (1977) at Murwillumbah Library on Wednesday 30 July at noon.
