Market Update – October 2016

Your market is still going strong

October has been a busy month, just as it has in previous months, with buyer activity continuing to be high, and sales being achieved.  We have seen the local market reacting strongly to higher than normal prices and shorter days on the market.  The shortage of quality homes on the market is creating the high buyer demand and this looks to continue into summer months.

Although the same cannot be said for all markets where the level of confidence is patchy across the country.  Whilst attending the Professionals Annual International Conference in Melbourne this week we had the opportunity to discuss market conditions across Australia and New Zealand with our Professional colleagues.  We found that some areas have experienced a fall in prices by 25%-30% over the last 12-month period whilst others are showing consistent gains of 12%-15% each year.  As we said, very patchy.

The variation in markets seems to be highly dependent on each area’s unique infrastructure, industry and demographics.  Those areas performing best are those with good access to health care, work options and lifestyle benefits that suit a variety of age groups.

We believe that this is why our local area is currently doing so well and will continue to be a great place to invest and an even better place to live.

Just an update on our fundraising efforts during October for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  We held our annual Bowling Night on 19 October.  A full house with all lanes taken up with bowlers.

We are proud to announce that we raised, on the night, $6,516.  Thank you to all those who donated.  And the winning teams of the bowling night were:  Oculus Accounting Fluro’s, Gold Coast IT Geeks, and Professionals Kingscliff Agents.

Thank you to all of you who have donated to this worthwhile cause.
