The rural hamlets of Piggabeen and Cobaki are located about 10 minutes drive to the west of Tweed Heads itself. Both areas sit in a picturesque valley and offer small to medium acreage properties.
Currently under development, Cobaki Lakes is a new suburb which includes a variety of housing, an 18-hole golf course, a private school, a town centre – including shops and offices, a childcare centre and 266 hectares of open space.
Major shopping centres and medical facilities are all within 10 minutes drive. There are several rural-based businesses including wholesale nurseries, dairy and banana farmers, and other home-based businesses.
According to the 2001 Census, the population of the Piggabeen and Cobaki areas was 1,433.
